This is a a drawing of a peacock done for the front cover of my school yearbook. I looked up some pictures of mutant peacocks for reference, although it is not entirely realistic.
When grog gets in the water, birds go queer.
I hear grog is named for Captain Edward Vernon, who was called 'Old Grog' - but why was he called Old Grog in the first place? This bothers me. Any answers gratefully received
Its drawn with a caligraphy felt-tip, like the ones grown-ups might write certificates and christmas cards with.
I hope you like it, pirate fans and peacock fans! Smhlehsmhlehsmhleh
EDIT: Once again I apologise for the awful scan quality, I had to do two and stick them together cos it's too big, and I have no working digital camera, and only the lousiest of photo software on my lousy computer. Not that I'm trying to make excuses perish the thought.
I see it now. This is glorious. Much better than most of the ink crap on here that everybody loves. Sometimes I wonder why the hell certain people actually get page views, where other talent is ignored.
That would be a shame. After all, 'everybody loves crap' goes for the whole world, the lumpen proletariat has no taste, the bourgeois blah blah...
It's a very defeatist attitude to move to a whole new community because you don't approve of other deviant artists, when deviant art is not a community at all but a facilitator to making your own community if you wish to do so. The whole friends, notes, favourites, comments, system is designed so that you don't have to pay attention to the hordes of retard anime fangirls etc
And as far as recognition goes, although it patently is, I think I would prefer devart not to be a tool for the users' ego-gratification, wouldn't you? I think it would do most of us a lot of good to get less recognition of our talents. Page views maketh not the artist... :lol

this is sweet as hell and i rue not getting to write a fictionalised memoir in the yearbook, under this sturdy bird. Speaking of memoirs, I've been reading about Casanova in colin wilson's the Occult, and he sounds like an absolute dude. Can we interview him?

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
